Surveying landscapes with LiDAR Sensors and Terrestrial Laser Scanners
What is LiDAR measurement? LiDAR is a method of measurement using lasers, with the time taken for laser pulses to be sent out and returned to the equipment, determining the distance of the object from the sensor. Each pulse forms a “point” in three-dimensional space, forming a “point cloud“ which can be used for a variety of measurement purposes. At Arboris, we use a drone-mountable LiDAR payload and terrestrial laser scanner, creating point clouds of woodland and peatland. H
